ADC Diagnostix^™ Portable Otoscope Ophthalmoscope Sets manufactured by ADC are ideal for diagnosis and examination of the eyes and ears. The Otoscope/Ophthalmoscope Set is ideal for ENTs, doctors, and general practitioners. Each set is packaged with one each otoscope, ophthalmoscope, C cell sized rechargeable battery handle, hard carry case and five each 2.75 and 4.25 mm speculums.
ADC's Otoscope head features fiber optics for optimal beaming and transmission of light. The Otoscope features bi-directional swiveling and optical glass with 3-fold magnification. An integrated metal bayonet fitting allows for quick release of instrument heads. Diagnostix^™ Otoscope is available in halogen/xenon or LED illumination. The Otoscope includes 5 each of 2.75 mm and 4.25 mm disposable specula.
ADC's Ophthalmoscope Head has an easy to operate aperture wheel with 24 aperture/filter combinations for improved versatility. The Ophthalmoscope also features 89 viewing lenses from -44 to +45 in single step and a secondary focusing wheel with zero retention for quick correction of ametropias. Diagnostix^™ Ophthalmoscope is available in halogen/xenon or LED illumination. ADC's Ophthalmoscope also uniquely features a focusing device with zero retention with a magnified/illuminated aperture viewing window. The Diagnostix^™ Coax+ includes a Karo (grid) aperture that allows for easier transfer of observations to standard Karo paper. Coax+ also additionally includes 89 viewing lenses from -44 to +45 in single step and a secondary focusing wheel with zero retention for quick correction of ametropias. The Diagnostix^™ Ophthalmoscope has six different apertures; slit, fixation, large circle, small circle, micro spot, and half moon. The Head also has three different filters; red free, cobalt, and polarizing.
The Diagnostic Set is available in either a halogen/xenon or LED illumination option. Halogen/Xenon combines inert gas technologies providing a bright white light and cooler color temperatures. The LED provides a color temperature of 4200k compared to 3200k of the halogen. The LED bulb life is also 100,000 hours compared to only 20-30 hours for halogen.
The Battery Handle is capable of charging rechargeable Li-ion batteries in the handle via the top half of the handle which screws off to reveal a wall plug - see IMAGES. The Otoscope/Ophthalmoscope Handle automatically shuts off after 2 minutes to save power. A rheostatic light intensity control provides infinite, continuously variable control. The handle is made of chrome plated black steel with a ribbed gripping surface.
