The Robotic Manipulator Arm (RoMa) is manufactured by Tecan Trading AG. It extends the flexibility of the FreedomEVO® workstation by efficiently and quickly transporting microplates and other laboratory equipment between workbenches, peripherals and laboratory appliances. The Freedom EVO liquid handling workstation can be installed with many different combinations of up to 3 independent robotic arms selected from high precision liquid handling arms (LiHa), robotic arms (RoMa), pick and place arms and 96 or 384-MultiChannel Arms To bring true parallel processing to your application. The Freedom EVO platform can be equipped with up to two RoMa arms to enable parallel logistics tasks to increase throughput without affecting analysis. By selecting available fixtures, this universal module can manipulate SBS-formatted labware, such as microplates, deep-well plates, reagent blocks around the tip holder and workbench, as well as import and export labware from external storage devices. To further increase productivity, the RoMa arm also has an extended Z-axis to allow access to the space below the workbench, making it possible to integrate larger equipment such as readers, washing machines, centrifuges, plate storage and incubation equipment.
