Analysis of ABCA12 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-1695-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: ABCA12
Also known as: LI2; ICR2B; ARCI4A; ARCI4B
The membrane-associated protein encoded by this gene is a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily. ABC proteins transport various molecules outside and inside the cell membrane. The ABC genes are grouped into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, and White). The encoded protein is a member of the ABC1 subfamily, the only major ABC subfamily found only in multicellular eukaryotes. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
