Adrenomedullin is a 52a peptide that has multiple functions, including vasodilation, regulation of hormone secretion, promotion of angiogenesis, and antimicrobial activity. Antimicrobial activity is antimicrobial as the peptide has been shown to kill E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus at low concentrations.
