Analysis of Albumin (ALB) by Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer (CAT#: STEM-MB-1320-LGZ)

Introduction

Sensitivity: 0.50 g/L
Detection range: 0.50-70 g/L
Precision: inter-lot difference of 4.2%, intra-lot difference of 2.1%
Detection equipment: Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer
Detection wavelength: 628 nm

Principle

Bromocresol green (BCG) combines with albumin in pH 4.0-4.2 environment to form albumin-bromocresol green complex, which is yellowish-green. The shade of yellowish-green is directly proportional to albumin concentration. The albumin content in serum can be calculated by colorimetric method.

Applications

It is suitable for detecting albumin content in animal serum (plasma).

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.

Materials

• Sample Type: animal serum, plasma
