Analysis of CD151 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-2207-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: CD151 molecule (Raph blood group)
Also known as: EBS7; GP27; MER2; RAPH; SFA1; PETA-3; TSPAN24
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane superfamily, also known as the tetraprotein family. Most of these members are cell surface proteins characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. These proteins mediate signal transduction events and play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. This encoded protein is a cell surface glycoprotein known to complex with integrins and other transmembrane superfamily proteins. It is involved in cellular processes including cell adhesion and may regulate integrin trafficking and/or function. This protein enhances the viability, invasion and metastasis of cancer cells. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described for this gene.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
