Cluster of antigenic differentiation 80 (CD80) is a protein found on dendritic cells, activated B cells, and monocytes that provides the necessary co-stimulatory signals for T cell activation and survival. It is also known as B7-1. The cDNA of B7-1 was predicted to be a type I membrane protein, a membrane protein synthesized on the signal peptide translocated on the endoplasmic membrane.
