Analysis of CHI3L1 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-0869-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: chitinase 3 like 1
Also known as: GP39; ASRT7; GP-39; YK-40; YKL40; CGP-39; YKL-40; YYL-40; HC-gp39; HCGP-3P; hCGP-39
Chitinase catalyzes the hydrolysis of chitin, an abundant sugar copolymer found in insect exoskeletons and fungal cell walls. The 18 family of glycoside hydrolases of chitinases includes 8 human family members. This gene encodes a glycoprotein member of the glycosyl hydrolase 18 family. This protein lacks chitinase activity and is secreted by activated macrophages, chondrocytes, neutrophils, and synoviocytes. This protein is thought to play a role in inflammation and tissue remodeling.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
