Analysis of Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) by Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer (CAT#: STEM-MB-1325-LGZ)

Introduction

Sensitivity: 1.5 mmol/L
Detection range: 1.5-150 mmol/L
Precision: inter-lot difference of 2.7%, intra-lot difference of 1.3%
Detection equipment: Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer
Detection wavelength: 405 nm

Principle

H2O2 reacts with ammonium molybdate to form a stable yellow complex with maximum absorption at 405 nm. The color depth of the yellow complex has a linear relationship with the concentration of H2O2 within a certain range. Therefore, the content of H2O2 can be calculated by colorimeter.

Applications

It is used to detect the H2O2 content in serum, plasma, urine, animal and plant tissues, and cell samples.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.

Materials

• Sample Type: Serum, plasma, culture medium, plant and animal tissue, cell sample
