Analysis of Reduced Glutathione (GSH) by Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer (CAT#: STEM-MB-1333-LGZ)

Introduction

Sensitivity: 0.26 mg GSH/L
Detection range: 0.26-122.8 mg GSH/L
Precision: inter-lot difference of 2.4%, intra-lot difference of 1.8%
Detection equipment: Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer
Detection wavelength: 420 nm

Principle

Reduced glutathione (GSH) can react with dithio-dinitrobenzoic acid (DTNB) to produce thio-nitrobenzoic acid and glutathione disulfide. Nitromercaptobenzoic acid is a yellow compound. The content of reduced glutathione (GSH) can be determined by colorimetric quantification at 420 nm.

Applications

It was used to detect the content of GSH in serum, plasma, animal and plant tissue samples and cultured cells.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.

Materials

• Sample Type: serum, plasma, animal and plant tissue samples and cultured cells
