Analysis of RGS13 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-0629-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: regulator of G protein signaling 13<br />The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Regulator of G-protein Signaling (RGS) family. RGS family members share similarity with S. cerevisiae SST2 and C. elegans egl-10 proteins, which contain a characteristic conserved RGS domain. RGS protein accelerates G protein α subunit GTPase activity, thereby driving G protein into an inactive GDP binding form, This negatively regulates G protein signaling. RGS proteins are involved in the fine-tuning of various cellular events in response to G protein-coupled receptor activation. However, the biological function of this gene is unknown. There are two transcript variants encoding the same isoform.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
