Analysis of SZT2 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-0100-LGZ)

Introduction

Also known as: DEE18; KICS1; SZT2A; SZT2B; EIEE18; C1orf84; KIAA0467<br />The protein encoded by this gene is expressed in the brain, primarily in the parietal and frontal cortex and the dorsal root ganglia. It localizes to peroxisomes and is associated with protection against oxidative stress. It may work by increasing superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, but has no direct SOD activity itself. Studies in mice have shown that this gene lowers the seizure threshold and may also enhance epileptogenesis.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Cryptorchidism, Global developmental delay, Seizure, Central hypotonia, Deep plantar creases, Macrocephaly, Abnormal cerebral white matter morphology, Abnormality of the anterior fontanelle, See cases

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
