Analysis of TAFA3 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-1142-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: TAFA chemokine like family member 3
Also known as: TAFA-3; FAM19A3
This gene is a member of the TAFA family, which consists of five highly homologous genes encoding small secreted proteins. These proteins contain conserved cysteine residues at fixed positions and are distantly related to MIP-1alpha, a member of the cc chemokine family. TAFA proteins are predominantly expressed in specific regions of the brain and are postulated to be brain-specific chemokines or neurokines, acting as regulators of immunity and neuronal cells. Alternative splicing transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
