Analysis of Thiobarbituric Acid Reactants (TBARS) by Fluorescence Microplate Reader (CAT#: STEM-MB-1516-LGZ)

Introduction

Sensitivity: 0.09 μmol/L
Detection range: 0.09-10 μmol/L
Precision: inter-lot difference of 2.8%, intra-lot difference of 1.7%
Detection equipment: Fluorescence Microplate Reader
Excitation wavelength: 520 nm
Emission wavelength: 550 nm

Principle

Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) mainly refers to malondialdehyde, pink compounds that can react with TBA under high temperature and acidic conditions. Their concentration has a linear relationship with the concentration of TBARS in the sample. The excitation wavelength is measured at 530 nm. The fluorescence value at 550 nm can be used to calculate the concentration of TBARS indirectly.

Applications

It was used to detect the content of TBARS in serum (plasma), animal tissues, cells and other samples.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Determination of fluorescence intensity.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.

Materials

• Sample Type: serum (plasma), animal tissues, cells and other samples
