Analysis of Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) by Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer (CAT#: STEM-MB-1334-LGZ)

Introduction

Sensitivity: 0.03 mg/L
Detection range: 0.03-50 mg/L
Precision: inter-lot difference of 4.7%, intra-lot difference of 3.4%
Detection equipment: Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer
Detection wavelength: 520 nm

Principle

Add excess iron in the serum, so that all the serum ferritin and iron binding, and then add iron adsorbent to absorb the excess iron, and then under the action of acidic solution and reducing agent, make the ferritin in the separation of iron and protein, so that the serum high iron reduction into ferrous, the latter and bipyridine binding into pink complex, within a certain range, the number of iron ions and color is positively correlated, The measured iron content is called TIBC, from which the serum iron value is subtracted, the unsaturated iron binding capacity (UIBC) is obtained.

Applications

It is suitable for the determination of total iron binding capacity in serum samples.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.
