Analysis of Vitamin E (VE) by Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer (CAT#: STEM-MB-1317-LGZ)

Introduction

Sensitivity: 0.09 μg/mL
Detection range: 0.09-40 μg/mL
Precision: inter-lot difference of 4.9%, intra-lot difference of 4.4%
Detection equipment: Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer
Detection wavelength: 533 nm

Principle

In the presence of phenanthroline, VE can reduce ferric ions to ferric ions, which can form pink complexes with phenanthroline under certain circumstances and have a maximum absorption wavelength at 533 nm. The content of VE can be calculated by colorimetry.

Applications

It is suitable for detecting VE content in animal serum (plasma), animal and plant tissues.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.

Materials

• Sample Type: Animal serum (plasma), animal and plant tissue
