The Lambda-S Objectives use Nikon's unique nanocrystal coating technology, which is an anti-reflective coating that virtually eliminates the internal reflection of the lens in a wide wavelength range. It is particularly effective in reducing stray light reflections and glare in high-angle (large NA) lenses, enabling high transmission rates in a wide range of wavelengths from ultraviolet to infrared. Nikon's unique nanocrystalline coating uses a multi-layer ultra-low refractive index coating with nano-scale ultra-fine crystalline particles. This technology was developed for Nikon's world-famous lithographic semiconductor manufacturing products and can now be used to improve the performance of microscope objectives.
