Breakdown Voltage Tester

The breakdown voltage tester is an important instrument for testing the voltage breakdown strength of related products. Relying on the simulated test conditions provided by the instrument, various tests such as breakdown voltage and leakage current can be performed intuitively, accurately, quickly and reliably on various measured objects.

Sample Requirements

  • Please provide at least 5 duplicate samples.
  • Thin film sample: the sample diameter is greater than 80 mm and the thickness is less than 5 mm.
  • Ceramic and solid samples: as close as possible to 10 cm, and the thickness is less than 2 mm.
  • The sample should be as flat as possible.

Application

  • For testing the breakdown strength and withstand voltage time of solid insulating materials such as plastic, film, resin, mica, ceramics, glass, insulating varnish and other media under power frequency voltage or DC voltage

FAQ

Q1. Effect of sample thickness on breakdown field strength.

A. As the thickness and non-uniformity of the sample increase, the electric field at the edge of the electrode becomes more uneven, and the heat inside the sample is less easily dissipated. The probability of defects inside the sample increases, all of which will cause a decrease in the breakdown field strength.
