Capillary Method

Capillary melting point measurement is a commonly used laboratory method used to measure the melting point or melting range of solid substances at atmospheric pressure. The capillary method is required in many local pharmacopeias as the standard technique for melting point determination. This method involves placing the sample in a capillary tube and running an experiment that will heat the sample until it reaches the melting point.
