Diffusing wave spectroscopy (DWS) technology is an advanced light scattering technology, mainly used in microrheology and particle size characterization. The technology extracts the mean azimuth shift (MSD) of particles dispersed in solvents from the time fluctuations of light intensity at different scattering angles. The fluctuation of the intensity of transmitted light with time is a direct result of the motion of scattered particles and the coherence properties of light in the solution. Diffused wave spectroscopy is a fast and non-invasive technology, which makes it far superior to the traditional particle size analysis technology that require sample pretreatment.
