Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) is a powerful technology for studying molecular diffusion within biofilms with high spatial and temporal resolution. FCS can quantify the molecular concentration and diffusion coefficient of fluorescently labeled molecules. Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) can quantify molecular dynamics and has been widely used in biomedicine, biophysics and chemistry. Using the temporal correlation of fluorescence fluctuations caused by the diffusion of molecules through focused light, FCS can quantitatively assess the concentration, diffusion coefficient and interaction of molecules in vivo or in vitro.
