Fluorescence Recovery After Photobleaching (FRAP) Technology

Fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP) technology is to label the membrane protein or lipid with a fluorescent substance, and then irradiate the membrane with a laser to make a certain part of the fluorescence bleach. If the membrane protein is flowing, the fluorescence of the bleaching site can be restored after the laser irradiation is stopped, and the diffusion rate of the membrane protein or membrane lipid can be calculated according to the recovery rate. Fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP) technology helps to solve a series of problems such as the dynamic changes of lipid and protein molecules in cells and their interactions with other components.
