Surfactant Characterization

Surfactants as detergents, wetting agents, emulsifiers, foaming agents, and dispersants assume an important role that can lower surface and interfacial tensions at the gas-liquid-solid interface. Furthermore, the surfactant has an antibacterial effect, which inhibits the growth of pathogenic microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, algae, and viruses, ensuring that medicinal preparations are free of hazardous microorganisms. Characterization of surfactants is thus important for development, optimization and correct dosing of surfactants. Our analysis of surfactants includes but is not limited to non-ionic surfactants, anionic surfactants, cationic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants, defoamer, dispersant and mixed surfactant systems in formulated products.
