In the past, most electrical and electronic equipment must have product safety registration or certification for each country in which it is offered for sale. It was difficult, time-consuming, and expensive. The CB Scheme (“IECEE CB” or “Scheme of the IECEE for Mutual Recognition of Test Certificates for Electrical Equipment”) is the world's first international system for the mutual acceptance of test reports and certificates covering the safety, electromagnetic compatibility and energy efficiency of electrical and electronic equipment, devices and components. It was created by the International Electrotechnical Commission for Electrical Equipment (IECEE) to provide a simplified and convenient way to obtain a national safety certification for their products in different markets. Today, CB Scheme certification is recognized in more than 50 participating countries.
