Cell adhesion is the process by which cells interact and attach to neighbouring cells through specialised molecules of the cell surface. It can generally be divided into two categories, namely cell-to-cell adhesion and cell-to-matrix adhesion.
Cell adhesion is the basic condition for maintaining the stability of tissue structure, and it is also a regulatory factor for cell movement and function, and has an important impact on cell proliferation and differentiation.
Currently commonly used experimental methods include mechanical methods, radionuclide methods, cell separation experiments, and tumor cell aggregate formation assays.
