This is the first horizontal dilatometer series on the market that allows force modulation. In this way, the gap between the expansion method and thermomechanical analysis (TMA) can be bridged under oscillating loads. In classical dilatometry, the measurement range and resolution of the two parameters are almost completely opposite. If the resolution is increased, the measurement range usually decreases, and vice versa. The novel photoelectric displacement system has perfect linearity and maximum resolution in the measurement range that has hitherto been impossible.
