Electrical Properties Test

The electrical properties are the response behavior of the material applied in an electrical field. Electrical testing provided by STEMart measures the resistance, conductivity or charge storage either on the surface or through the material.

Client can obtain comprehensive information about the electrical behavior of their materials and products through our various electrical properties testing.

Test Capabilities

  • Surface resistivity testing: Measure the resistance to leakage current along the surface of an insulating material.
  • Volume resistivity testing: Measure the resistance to leakage current through the body of an insulating material.
  • Dielectric strength testing: Measure the electrical strength (the maximum voltage required to produce a dielectric breakdown through the material) of a material as an insulator.
  • Dielectric constant testing: Determine the ability of an insulator to store electrical energy.
  • Dielectric loss testing: Refer to the phenomenon that the dielectric itself is heated due to the consumption of part of the electric energy in the alternating electric field, which is one of the indicators of the quality of insulating materials.
  • Coefficient of surface resistance
  • Arc resistance testing: Evaluate a material's resistance to deterioration caused by a high voltage arc.
  • Tracking and erosion resistance testing: Evaluate a material's resistance to tracking and erosion under dry, wet or liquid contaminant condition.
