Ethynyl Deoxyuridine Detection to analyze cell proliferation (CAT#: STEM-CBT-0007-WXH)

Introduction

Based on the principle of DNA synthesis, the initial tool developed was BrdU staining method, but the operation was time-consuming, often requiring overnight treatment of cells, and the operation was complicated. Later, on the basis of BrdU, a revolutionary probe - Ethynyl Deoxyuridine, which is a thymidine analog, the alkyne group attached to it is rare in natural compounds, and it can replace thymine in the replicating DNA molecule during cell proliferation middle. Based on the specific reaction between Ethynyl Deoxyuridine and Apollo fluorescent dyes (green, orange, red), it can directly, quickly and accurately detect the replication activity of cellular DNA.

Applications

• Detection of cellular DNA replication activity.
• Research of cell proliferation, cell differentiation, growth and development, DNA damage repair, virus replication, cell marker tracing, etc.
• Cell proliferation screening experiments of siRNA, miRNA, small molecule compounds and other drugs.
