FrameStar® 96 Well Semi-Skirted PCR Plate manufactured by Azenta Life Sciences is designed with rigid polycarbonate skirt to prevent warping and distortion during PCR, ensuring seal integrity and reducing sample lost due to evaporation. The wells of this semi-skirted plate are shorter than those of standard profile plate wells, reducing the "dead space" between the sample and the heated lid of the thermal cycler, which eliminates condensation on the side wall of the tube, preventing reduction in PCR volume and increasing the efficiency of the reaction. This is especially recommended for reaction volumes below 20µl.
