Immobilized protein G is used to bind the constant domains of immunoglobulin (Ig) molecules. It is an ideal protein for simple one-step purification of immunoglobulin classes, subclasses and fragments from biological fluids and cell culture media. Protein G is a modified streptococcal group G so that it does not bind albumin. Protein G is coupled to 4% highly cross-linked agarose beads via a proprietary conjugation method, providing high coupling efficiency and minimal protein G leaching for Ig. Our immobilized protein G has a high binding capacity (>20mg sheep IgG/ml resin).
Protein G can be used to purify mammalian monoclonal and polyclonal IgGs that bind poorly to Protein A. Protein G has a stronger affinity than protein A for most mammalian IgGs, especially for certain subclasses, including human IgG3, mouse IgG1, and rat IgG2a. Unlike protein A, protein G does not bind human IgM, IgD and IgA.
Immobilized Protein G 0.2ml spin column kit is suitable for small-scale affinity purification of antibodies from various samples. Each 0.2ml chromatographic column can purify 0.1-1mg IgG from 25-500μl serum or other samples.
Immobilized Protein G 1ml Spin Column Kit is suitable for small-scale affinity purification of antibodies from various samples. Each 1ml chromatographic column can purify 1-13mg IgG from 0.5-2ml serum or other samples.
Can also process up to 96 samples in a 96-well spin plate format. Specific binding and elution buffers can also be used.
