Inertsil WP300 SIL Analytical Columns manufactured by GL Sciences Inc. is pure silica gel phase with 300 Å pore size. The column can be used for analysis of large molecules compounds. The surface area of silica gel is smaller as the pore becomes wider. Since the interactions between the analyte and silica gel occur on the silica surface, smaller surface area means less interactions and faster elution. Inertsil WP300 SIL elutes faster than Inertsil SIL-100A whose pore size is 100 Å though their separating patterns are similar.
