MacroTube® 5mL Snap-Cap Centrifuge Tube manufactured by MTC Bio are made of high clarity, low-binding, virgin polypropylene. The attached cap offers a tight, leak-proof, secure seal from -86°C to +80°C, and can be easy to open with one hand. The thin "membrane" area in the center of the cap allows for easy puncture and access by a syringe/needle. Once punctured, the opening can also be useful for venting the internal pressure caused by incubation at moderately high temperatures. The diameter of the tube is same with that of standard 15mL tubes, making them compatible with centrifuge rotors, etc. The total length of tube is 56mm, which is short enough for standard 1mL or 5mL tips to reach the tube's conical bottom, thereby greatly recuding potential contamination of pipettor shafts.
