Micro-Chamber/Thermal Extractor, Markes International Ltd (CAT#: STEM-LE-0361-LC)

Highlights

The four-chamber model has a chamber volume of 114 ml and a maximum temperature of 250°C.
The six-chamber model has a chamber volume of 44 mL and a maximum temperature of 120°C.
The volatiles are collected on the adsorption tube and analyzed by TD-GC-MS. It is also compatible with DNPH cartridges for monitoring of formaldehyde.

Cat Number: STEM-LE-0361-LC

Application: Comparison of products within a range (e.g. different colours/patterns); Testing prototype "low-emission" materials; Monitoring product uniformity, with respect to emissions, in between formal certification tests; Correlation with data from large emission chambers; Testing vapour permeation into and through materials at various temperatures; Flavour & fragrance profiling

Description

The Micro-Chamber/Thermal Extractor (µ-CTE) is a multi-fucntional and compact device with up to six chambers which is used for sampling of chemicals released from products or materials. Released volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds (VOCs and SVOCs) are collected onto sorbent tubes for analysis with TD–GC–MS.

Specification

Capacity: 44 or 114 mL (per chamber)
Max. Temperature: 120C or 250C

Features

The four-chamber model has a chamber volume of 114 ml and a maximum temperature of 250°C.
The six-chamber model has a chamber volume of 44 mL and a maximum temperature of 120°C.
The volatiles are collected on the adsorption tube and analyzed by TD-GC-MS. It is also compatible with DNPH cartridges for monitoring of formaldehyde.
No sample preparation.
A constant flow of heated air or gas ensures that a representative VOC/SVOC curve is quickly generated.
The results can be related to long-term reference methods.
Structure made of stainless steel with inert coating – compatible with reactive or thermally unstable chemicals.
The attachment allows surface-only sampling or penetration testing.
