Depend on the dual-beam design, with one optical path always aligned to the top of the specimen while the second focused on sample lower end correcting for any drift related to thermal-profile, the contact-less Vertical Optical Dilatometer Misura® 3 ODHT allows to measure dimensional changes up to 15% in expansion and down to 50% in shrinkage of the original dimensions. It is suitable for the precise study of materials' expansion, sintering or bloating and analysis of the sample behaviour throughout the industrial firing cycle up to a maximum temperature of 1650 °C with maximum heating rate of 80 °C/min.
