3. The system is capable of reading 96 or 384 wells, each well with its own sample beam and reference detector for densitometric measurements at selected wavelengths at endpoint (single time point), kinetics (at a specific time) , or spectral scan mode (in a specific wavelength range).
4. The high-precision nine-channel system (8 is a microplate; 1 is a test tube port) consists of a sample beam and a reference beam that simulate a dual-beam spectrophotometer. This filterless system includes a monochromator that allows up to 6 wavelengths in the visible spectrum, saving time without the need to change filters.
5. The PathCheck sensor eliminates optical path length as a factor (and corrects for pipetting variations), bridging the gap between microplate readers and spectrophotometers. This is done by PathCheck in conjunction with SoftMax Pro software, which automatically normalizes wellbore absorbance, allows standard curve elimination, and corrects for volume differences in wellbore.
6. The 384 Plus measures the liquid depth and volume to 5 µL in each microwell and scales the microwell data to the standard 1cm cuvette value.
7. The monochromator selects wavelengths in 1nm increments, and the system has built-in programmable linear and orbital plate vibrations.
