Molecular Interaction

The basis of life activities is the interaction between biomolecules and between biomolecules and other molecules. Nucleic acid and protein are important biologically active macromolecules in the body, each with its own structural characteristics and specific functions, and is an important part of life activities. The interaction of the two constitutes life activities such as growth, reproduction, movement, heredity and metabolism. At present, molecular interaction is divided into three categories: nucleic acid-nucleic acid interaction, nucleic acid-protein interaction, and protein-protein interaction.

Types

Protein-Protein Interaction

Proteins are the executors of life activities, and can perform life activities in the form of single molecules or complexes. The interaction between protein molecules is a way for protein molecules to form complexes and perform functions.

Protein-Nucleic Acid Interaction

The interaction between protein and nucleic acid widely exists in the regulation of life activities. Gene replication, transcription, translation, modification and other processes are inseparable from the interaction between nucleic acid and protein.

Nucleic Acid-Nucleic Acid Interaction

MiRNA can combine with mRNA to regulate the expression of genes in the body, and regulate the progress of life activities by affecting protein expression, modification, and enzyme activity. As ceRNA in vivo, lncRNA can combine with miRNA to regulate gene expression. Studying the interaction between lncRNA and miRNA is of great significance for the study of life.
