Description

The manufacturer of Nikon SMZ-U Stereo/Dissecting Microscope is Nikon. Model is SMZ-U. In developing the SMZ-U, Nikon's goal was to produce a stereo optical system that would overcome the limitations of parallel beam path stereo microscopes, while still delivering high-quality results. Higher resolution and wider zoom range guarantee high-quality images at any magnification, while the natural shape and color of the specimen are preserved. The model was a state-of-the-art stereo microscope at the time, first produced in the early 1990s.

Features

1. SMZ-U has a lower eye plane design, and the fatigue during observation is reduced.
2. The variable iris diaphragm, conveniently positioned in front of the body tube, provides flexible control of the depth of focus.
3. A beamsplitter is strategically placed on an attachment to a camera system or TV camera while viewing from each port.
4. A distortion-free redisplay 1x objective is the top of the class-leading objective lineup.
5. The objective lens used in the SMZ-U is made of Nikon's specially patented Extra Low Dispersion (ED) glass, which provides high compensation for distortion, surface irregularities and chromatic aberration.
6. SMZ-U (Problem Inherent to Stereo Microscopy) solves the main curvature of field aberration and obtains flat images at all magnification ranges.
7. High numerical aperture objectives enable very high resolution, even at the edges of the image.
8. The SMZ-U zoom ratio is 10:1, and the coverage range is 0.75x to 7.5x, without frequent lens changes.
9. Interchangeable objective lenses, providing a magnification range of 0.5x to 2x, enabling wider magnification range and longer working distance.
