Plant Carbon Elements Determination

Carbon is one of the most abundant mineral elements in the environment. Carbon is a macronutrient and forms about 45% of the structure of most vascular plants. During photosynthesis process, plants convert C from CO2 in the atmosphere to the forms of biological macromolecules (carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids) to maintain metabolic functions and build basic structures. The total carbon in plants refers to the organic carbon in plant samples, which is oxidized during respiration process and can be effectively used by plants. Using this characteristic, the content of organic carbon in plant samples can be determined.

STEMart is able to efficiently and accurately determine the content of carbon elements in plant samples.
