Polyclonal Antibody Production (CAT#: STEM-MB-0129-WXH)

Introduction

Polyclonal antibody is a mixture of various antibodies that can recognize different epitopes of an antigen, and can be obtained by collecting antiserum after artificially immunizing the host. Because it can recognize multiple epitopes, it has higher affinity and sensitivity than monoclonal antibodies, and it is also more tolerant to minor antigenic changes.

Applications

• Detection of known or unknown antigenic subtypes with high antigenic homology.
• Detect low levels of specific antigens.
• Capture as much antigen as possible (e.g. immunoprecipitation or chromatin immunoprecipitation).
• Detection of denatured proteins.
• Detect targets with possible genetic polymorphisms, glycosylation, or conformational changes.
• Detect native proteins across multiple assay types.
• Detection of targets in solutions of varying pH and salt concentrations.

Procedure

1. Antigen Preparation
2. Animal immunization
3. Antibody Purification
4. QC testing
