Rat mAbs are preferred over mouse mAbs in many cases. Rats have a closer genetic similarity to humans, which means that rat mAbs can recognize a wide variety of antigens and can produce IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG, and IgM antibody isotypes. The high affinity and high specificity of rat mAbs help to identify and quantify targets with low molecular weight or poor immunogenicity, and are recommended for multi-target marker detection experiments. Either alone or in combination with other species such as rabbit monoclonal or polyclonal antibodies.
The unique advantages of rat monoclonal antibodies are as follows:
1. Closer similarity to human Fc;
2. Perfect for use with mouse antigens;
3. Detect poor immunogenic compounds and molecules of low molecular weight;
4. High affinity;
5. High sensitivity and specificity;
6. No background cross-reaction problems in immune detection compared to mouse background antigens;
7. Effective when used for small antigens;
8. Extra epitope region;
9. Versatile for multiple labeling experiments;
10. Reliable and robust results.
