The Thermo Scientific Hypercenter XP, also known as the Shandon Hypercenter XP, is a computer-controlled liquid transfer tissue processor with automated fixation, dehydration, washing, and paraffin infiltration of tissue specimens.

The Shandon Hypercenter XP features a reagent storage module that does not allow reagent fumes to be vented into the laboratory atmosphere while it is in operation. This Shandon tissue processor also carries a flexible air bladder that maximizes the air capacity of the system and uses an emergency carbon filter as an extra safety feature that only works when the pressure becomes too high.

The Hypercenter XP tissue processor is designed with a tissue capacity of 180 boxes and can be configured as floor or benchtop. Hypercenter XP enhances workflow with a command module that can control up to 5 reaction and storage modules, capable of handling up to 900 tapes per load. In addition, multilingual processor software XP allows the operator to save up to 9 custom programs and adapt to 2000 changes.

The Hypercenter XP Portable Wax Station also offers the option of a third wax bath, which can be used for the final cleaning stage of wax immersion of specimens. The wax station can be conveniently located on the side of the Hypercenter XP reaction module, so wax-impregnated specimens can be safely transported to the embedding station without messy wax spills.
