Large format imaging system for membrane-free imaging. Direct fluorescence for fast and accurate quantitation. Includes ImageQuant software for data analysis.
The Storm 860 Molecular Imager Gel and Blot Imaging System provides membrane-free autofluorescence and chemiluminescence imaging.
The Storm 860 Molecular Imager Gel and Blot Imaging System offers proven phosphorylation imager capabilities for autoradiative direct fluorescence for nucleic acid and protein gel analysis and chemiluminescence for fast blot analysis. Storm uses storage phosphor screens instead of film, providing high resolution imaging and precise quantification of 14C 3H 125I 32P 33P 35S and other sources of ionizing radiation. The wide exposure range and accurate signal quantification of the Storm 860 Molecular Imager produces publication-quality images from the first exposure. Storage phosphor screens are reusable and will not degrade from repeated exposure to laboratory-level radioactivity. To reuse, simply expose the screen to the super bright light of the ImageEraser light box (included with the Storm system). With direct fluorescence, the Storm 860 Molecular Imager can visualize and analyze nucleic acid and protein gels minutes after electrophoresis is complete. The gel is soaked in a dye solution and placed in a scanner for analysis. Cy5-labeled molecules can also be detected directly.
For chemiluminescence-based methods, the Storm 860 Molecular Imager reads blots in minutes without exposure to film. Quantification is simplified because unlike thin film storms show a linear response to fluorescence signal intensity.
The Storm 860 Molecular Imager scans gel blots or mounts and unmounts storage phosphor screens up to 35 - 43 cm. All Storm systems ship with ImageQuant TL.
The STORM 860 phosphorescence imager/fluorescence imager has three image detection modes Screen mode Red/blue fluorescent Chemifluorescence
You can use screens 14C, 32P, 33P, 35S and 1251; 3H sensitive screens are also available for purchase.
The Storm 860 Molecular Imager is also a two-color (blue and red excitation) fluorescence imager that opens up many new possibilities for quantitative analysis:
Chemiluminescent quantitative western Non-radioactive gel mobility shift experiments in which two different species can be detected and quantified separately. Coomassie staining quantitative version of fluorescent dyes Software provided by the Storm 860 Molecular Imager ImageQuant software (so you can analyze data in your own lab)
