T-maze is a behavioral experimental method for evaluating spatial memory ability, which is mainly used in the tests of discriminative learning, working memory and reference memory of animals. In this experiment, working memory mainly refers to short-term memory, while reference memory mainly refers to long-term memory.
Decreased working memory ability may cause symptoms such as difficulty in spatial positioning, and decreased reference memory ability may cause symptoms such as decreased ability to learn new knowledge. During the experiment, the animal's choice of the target arm is based on the animal's memory of the last explored target arm and its familiarity with the overall experimental process: different experimental methods can be used to test the completeness of the animal's working memory and reference memory.
