Transwell Cell Migration Assay (CAT#: STEM-CBT-0028-WXH)

Introduction

Transwell is an experimental technology. The main material of this technology is the Transwell chamber, which is shaped like a small cup that can be placed in an orifice plate, and a permeable membrane at the bottom of the cup. Put the Transwell chamber into the culture plate, the chamber is called the upper chamber, the inside of the culture plate is called the lower chamber, and the upper chamber and the lower chamber are filled with different culture solutions. The cells seeded in the upper chamber can be affected by the components of the lower layer of the culture medium, and the number of migrated cells is manually counted by staining to evaluate the migration of the cells, so as to study the influence of the lower layer components on the cells. Transwell experiments can be used for co-culture, cell chemotaxis, cell migration, cell invasion and other aspects of research, with the advantages of simplicity, good repeatability, and precise control. This assay is also known as the Boyden or modified Boyden chamber assay.
