Description

Hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC) leverages differences in the hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity of biomolecules to enable effective separation. Under high-salt conditions, biomolecules are adsorbed onto the hydrophobic groups of the chromatography medium. By gradually reducing the salt concentration, proteins are eluted sequentially based on their hydrophobicity, achieving precise separation and purification. With mild operating conditions and high resolution, HIC is a widely used method for isolating and purifying biological macromolecules.
UniHR HIC resins are constructed on a monodisperse, hydrophilically modified polymethacrylate matrix. These resins feature phenyl and butyl hydrophobic groups bonded to the hydrophilic matrix, forming two distinct families of HIC resins to meet diverse separation and purification needs.
