Liposome is an artificial membrane. In water, the hydrophilic head of phospholipid molecules was inserted into water, and the hydrophobic tail of liposome was extended to air. After agitation, the spherical liposome of double lipid molecules was formed, with diameter ranging from 25 nm to 1000nm.
Liposomes can be used in transgenic, or prepared, drugs, taking advantage of the fact that liposomes can fuse with cell membranes and deliver drugs into cells.
Transmission electron microscopy was used to visualize the liposomes prepared from total lipids extracted from mouse, human and porcine skin and stratum corneum.
