Privacy is essential to the exercise of free speech, free thought, and free association. STEMart is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal information we collect about individuals through our website, how we may use the information, and with whom we may share it. The Privacy Policy also describes how individuals can contact us about our privacy practices and to exercise their rights.
By using our website at or any website of ours, you agree to this policy. By providing your consent, you agree to allow us use your email address, phone number, and postal address to communicate with you about our products and services.
What personal information does STEMart collect?
- Customer submission. We collect personal information about you when you voluntarily submit information directly to us. This can include information you provide to us when you complete a form, purchase products, correspond with us, or other forms of marketing communications, enter a promotion, or contact us by telephone or interact with us at a conference or tradeshows. The information that you provide can include personally identifiable information (PII), where you live, shared content, social media information, login credentials (email address, password, library card barcode number and pin, or other login mechanisms depending on the system).
- Cookie collection. A cookie is a small data file sent from your web browser to a web server and is stored on your computer's, or electronic device's, hard drive. They are generated by websites to provide users with a personalized and often simplified online experience. We collect information about any device you have used to access our websites or our emails, for example, your device's make and model, the browser you used, your internet protocol (IP) and/or address, and your broad geographic location; we also collect information about how you use our website, for example, how your device has interacted with our website, including the pages accessed and links clicked, the websites you visited before or after our website, the products you viewed or searched for and the length of your visits to certain pages. The use of cookies is a standard practice among Internet websites. You have the option of disabling such cookies if you choose to. If you prefer, you can usually remove or reject browser cookies through the settings on your browser or device. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. For further information about the types of cookies we use, why, and how you can control cookies, please see our Cookie Policy.
- From third party. From time to time, we may receive personal information about you from third parties (for example from life science networking organizations), but only where we have checked that those third parties either have your consent or are otherwise legally permitted or required to disclose your personal information to us. We may also collect information about you from publicly available sources, including scientific publications, university websites and publicly available information on social media.
Please note that it is important not to submit sensitive personal information, such as racial or ethnic origin, political beliefs, philosophical or religious beliefs, membership of a trade union or political party, physical or mental health or genetic makeup, addictions, sexual life, the commission of criminal offences or proceedings and associated penalties or fines. If you provide such sensitive personal information to STEMart inadvertently, rest assured the information will be promptly deleted.

Who does STEMart share information with?
We will share your data with certain recipients as an essential part of being able to provide you with products and services, to run our events, and to enable us to run our business effectively. Such recipients include:
Our group companies. Our subsidiaries (i.e. any organization we own or control) or our holding company or ultimate holding company (i.e. any organization that owns or controls us) and any subsidiaries they own. These companies will only use your personal information in the same way as we can under this privacy policy.
Law enforcement, regulators and other parties for legal reasons. Sometimes the law requires us to share your information, such as if we receive a valid subpoena, warrant, or court order. On such occasions, we will share your information if: (1) Our careful review leads us to believe that the subpoena, warrant, or court order is valid, and that the law, including state privacy law applicable to Library records, requires us to do so; (2) STEMart is the complainant; (3) Exigent circumstances exist (for example, a life-and-death emergency or the risk of serious physical injury). If Creative BioMart receives a valid subpoena, warrant, or court order for a patron's information, it is our policy to notify the patron via email before any information is disclosed, with certain exceptions such as being required by authorities not to contact the patron, or if we have no way to contact the patron.
Third-party vendors and websites. We may use third-party service providers and technologies to help deliver some of our services to you. We will make every effort to let you know when a third-party company is being used to deliver our services. If and when you choose to use such services, we may need to share your information with these third parties, but only as necessary for them to provide the services on behalf of STEMart.
Investors and other contributors. We are often only able to provide certain products and services, which we would not otherwise be able to afford, due to the generous support of investors and other contributors. These funds are occasionally dependent upon STEMart complying with the reporting requirements of the investor or contributor. If you participate in these services, your information may be included in these reports. When appropriate and practical, we will tell you the names of investors and contributors associated with these products and services, as well as what data and information we may need to share with them, in the registration process.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information for commercial purposes without your consent. We do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to anyone else except as set out above.
Children's privacy
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) regulates online collection of information from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, you may not be allowed to use our online services without your parent's or guardian's permission, especially when your personal information may be automatically collected. Parents and guardians of children under the age of 13 may view their children's website records. Parents and guardians of children between the ages of 13 and 17 (inclusive) may also view their children's website records, but require their children's consent to do so. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take the necessary actions.
