RAP is a receptor-associated protein with a molecular weight of 44KDa that was discovered early in the Heymann nephritis (HN) antigen-antibody complex. The absence of RAP antibodies can induce HN formation. RAP belongs to the low density lipoprotein receptor family, and its physiological significance may be related to lipoprotein metabolism.
