The BIOPATCH protective disc with CHG is a hydrophilic polyurethane absorbent foam containing glucosamine chlorhexidine (CHG). The foam can absorb fluid up to eight times its own weight. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is a well-known preservative with broad-spectrum antibacterial and antifungal activity and it can prevent bacteria from growing under the dressing.
