Analysis of DDR2 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-0892-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: discoidin domain receptor tyrosine kinase 2
Also known as: TKT; WRCN; MIG20a; NTRKR3; TYRO10
This gene encodes a member of the discoidin domain receptor subclass of the receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) protein family. RTKs play a key role in the communication between cells and their microenvironment. The encoded protein is a collagen-induced receptor that activates signal transduction pathways involved in cell adhesion, proliferation, and extracellular matrix remodeling. The protein is expressed in many cell types and may also be involved in wound repair and regulation of tumor growth and aggressiveness. Mutations in this gene are responsible for epiphyseal dysplasia with short limbs.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
